EA: Venedig 1497; ÜS: erste deutsche Übersetzung durch W. Kluxen, Darmstadt 1974. Fast die Hälfte des Werkes ist wörtlich dem I. Buch der 'Ordinatio' entnommen. "The treatise 'De primo principio' is authentically Scotist, at least as to its content and inspiration." [Gilson (1955), 763 n. 57]. ""Scotus himself refers to 'De primo principio' in a text of the 'Ordinatio' in his own handwritung. Yet it does not seem that he has been the only author of the treatise. While a great part of it is taken almost verbatim from the 'Ordinatio', the style of the two works is different." [Balić (1965), 23] "A careful analysis of the [manuscrits] leads one to conclude that Scotus had considerable secretarial help in composing the final draft. He seems to have contented himself with sketching the main outlines of the treatise and entrusted his personal amanuensis or other scribes with the task of filling in the substance of the work from those sections of the 'Ordinatio' he had indicated" [Wolter (1966), x-xi]. IV n. 93 Verweis auf einen zweiten Traktat "de creditis"; daß es sich dabei um Theoremata XIV-XVI handelt, hält Kluxen für ganz schwach begründet - es gibt keinen sonstigen passenden Text.
